Presbyterian Youth Connection -

Presbyterian Youth Connection (PYC) is a denomination-wide youth group. PYC meets primarily on Sunday evenings at 5:30 PM during the school year in the Fellowship Hall. Other events are scheduled throughout the year.

A pool party and Cookout for Back-to-School, Super Bowl Party, and Movie Night are some of the social events enjoyed by the youth. The youth also attend Presby Parties with other PYC groups in the Presbytery; retreats at Camp Maranatha and the Montreat Youth Conference at Montreat and the Middle School Conference. Fundraisers are held throughout the year to help defray some of the costs of these trips.

The Jr. High group is made up of youth in grades 6-8. The Sr. High group consists of older youth in grades 9-12.

Youth advisors use age-specific material for programs that deal with issues typical to this age group along with service-oriented projects. Past projects have included helping with the Thanksgiving dinners given to local, needy families; Christmas caroling for shut-ins; Youth Mission Trip to Pensacola to assist hurricane victims; mission trip to Atlanta to help in a Homeless Shelter Soup Kitchen and a day-care for under-privileged children; working at the CCC Clothes Closet and Food Pantry; and the Souper Bowl of Caring.

Children and youth get ready to make a GIANT ice cream sundae.

"OK, I'm ready."

"I'll take that."

"Now, how about a cherry for the very top?"

"I'm ready to dig in."

"Aren't you gonna share?"

"Oh, my gosh!"

"Almost ready!"

"May I eat now?"

"Pretty good."

"A new place for whipped cream."

"There's just a little left for the adults."

"I can't believe I ate the whole thing!"

"I'll have just one more bite."

"FUN AT THE ICE RINK!"
