Summer Camps and Conferences -
The summer months provide many opportunities for our youth.
Rising 6th, 7th, and 8th graders travel to Clinton, South Carolina to attend the Middle School Conference. This conference takes place on the campus of Presbyterian College. The youth and their adult chaperones are housed in the college dorms and eat in the dining hall. Each day there is time set aside for worship, singing, a keynote presentation, small group reflection, and fellowship time. Each night there is a fellowship activity such as a talent show or lawn party. It's a great way to meet middle schoolers from across the southeast.
Rising 9th graders through recently graduated seniors travel to Montreat, North Carolina for the Montreat youth conference. Montreat is a special place nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Over 1000 youth from across the country attend this conference. Each day time is designated for worship, singing, keynote presentations, energizers, and small group discussions. There is also time throughout the week for hiking, swimming, canoeing on the lake, rock-hopping, and just hanging out with friends.
All children and youth have the opportunity to attend camp sessions at Maranatha in Scottsboro, AL. Each summer college students are hired to be counselors and enhance the Maranatha staff with their energy and enthusiasm. There are weeks for each age group. Campers have the option of a traditional summer camp experience or a week at "Muscles in Mission Camp" or "Adventure Camp."
